1. Overview & Privacy Commitment

At HackySack, your interview privacy is our primary engineering focus. HackySack is designed from the ground up to keep your personal career information, resumes, and interview audio strictly confidential and secure.

2. Data Collection & Local Storage

• Local Storage: Your resume, job descriptions, session notes, and preferences are stored exclusively in your local machine's protected app storage.
• Hardware Credential Encryption: API keys and subscription tokens are stored using native Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI) via keyring-rs in the Windows Credential Manager.
• Zero Audio Retention: HackySack does not record, harvest, store, or sell your audio stream or interview conversations to external tracking servers. Audio captured during live sessions is processed strictly in-memory for transcription.

3. Cloud Pass & Third-Party AI Services

• Free BYOK Users: When bringing your own API key (Groq, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), requests are routed directly from your desktop to your designated provider without passing through any intermediate proxy.
• Cloud Pass Subscribers: Requests are processed through encrypted Supabase Edge functions without logging or persisting prompt text.
• Payment Processing: Billing information is processed directly by Stripe under PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance. HackySack never sees or stores your credit card details.
